The Young's book is a good introduction to Project Management.
I've found very useful:
- the concept of Programme Management;
- the Gate model Management;
- some technical trick to manage a team;
- the template on CD about Project and Programme Management.
It's a practical book and it's not too heavy.

Practical and well written.

The subject of Project Management has been saturated by a myriad of miracle promising messiahs whose abilities or actual successes are questionable. To the contrary in the Handbook of Project Management, Trevor L. Young with a welcoming freshness and a no nonsense approach demystifies the process of putting together the elements of a successfully executed project.
I thoroughly enjoined his approach on learning by doing and I recommend this book to both seasoned project managers and professionals just entering this field. This work is not a study on the material for the PMI certification. It is however a very practical guide for the professionals looking for a realistic, practical, and simple path to steer away from the typical trouble areas of project management.

Quite simple and good presentation of all major project management concepts. CD contains set of templates covering most of the aspects of project methodology. Strongly recommended for novices to PM.
